Andrew has been a partner at Blythe Liggins since 1993. For the last 30 years he has practised exclusively in family law, nowadays specialising in divorce, finance and property matters.
Andrew’s client base is varied. He has acted for clients who have both complex and straightforward issues that need to be resolved. However, as his career has developed he has increasingly acted for individuals who run their own businesses. He has also acted for a number of professionals over the years including other solicitors, accountants and property specialists. He has acted in cases that involve foreign property and cases where the parties have inherited significant family wealth, as well as building up their own wealth during the course of their marriage.
The philosophy that Andrew brings to the process of divorce is to look for solutions not problems which can and often do unnecessarily prevent a settlement from being reached. He prides himself on being able to take an overview of the finance and property side of a case with a view to finding a reasonable, pragmatic and fair solution.
The mantra of Andrew’s approach to divorce and finance and property cases is to reach a settlement without going to court. Where however a court action is necessary Andrew will strongly represent his clients with the full force of the law with a view to protecting their capital and where appropriate their business interests.
Andrew can help you with a wide range of issues including:
The divorce process
Finance and property matters
The protection of private business interests whether in the form of partnership or company protection
Seeking to protect inherited family wealth
Making provision for the future and in particular looking after pension interests
Prenuptial agreements
Freezing orders in connection with dissipation of wealth
Overseas property capital and pension interests
Outside his professional life, Andrew has completed the London Marathon twice and is a member of Stratford upon Avon Boat Club. He sails dinghies and small boats, albeit very badly.
