Kevin’s knowledge of the issues faced by our commercial clients means he will provide clear, strategic and cost-effective advice so that our clients achieve the best that they can. Kevin provides advice in a wide variety of commercial and commercial property matters, in particular, in acting for developers for whom he will acquire sites and advise them through the whole development process before dealing with the final leases/sales.
Kevin’s commercial property experience also includes:
- The creation of option agreements (acting for both landowners and local developers)
- Advising landlords and tenants in connection with their leases
- Purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, including where subject to occupational leases
His commercial experience includes:
- Business sales and acquisitions
- Providing company guidance, particularly in relation to good governance
- Drafting and advising on high value commercial contracts (and in particular Kevin advises one of Europe’s leading design consultancies)
Kevin is also an expert on charity matters and acts for a number of local and national charities. He has advised a number of national charities in relation to their corporate structures and has particular experience in creating federated structures for charities with multiple branches. He is a member of the Charity Law Association and Kevin has been a charity trustee of Hill Close Gardens, a grade 2* Victorian pleasure garden in Warwick which was restored with the assistance of a substantial grant from Heritage Lottery.
He is currently the Company Secretary for Chedhams Yard Trust, the winners of the first series of BBC’s “Restoration” programme. He also advises the Riding for the Disabled Association as their national solicitor, giving advice to their 600 branches as well as the national association.
Kevin is part of the firm’s Sports Law Unit which advises various sporting organisations and individuals. The Unit has advised a variety of national governing bodies, clubs, coaches and participants across many sports including golf, rugby, cricket, football, equestrian sports, swimming and disability sports, including many well known names.
Amongst others, Kevin has acted for British Blind Sport and Cambridge University RUFC, and was part of the Blythe Liggins team behind the setting up of both the Rugby Coaches Association (a national body aimed at bringing together coaches from both union and league to be their collective voice and representative body) and the Elite Cricket Coaches Association (to represent the ECB Level IV qualified coaches in the same way). Kevin was also a keynote speaker at the 2012 ECB Elite Coaches Challenge Convention.

Background and Memberships
Kevin qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 having been educated at Warwick School and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He trained at Blythe Liggins and became a Partner in 1999. He has been an integral part of the firm's Executive Committee since 2009. Kevin is a member of the British Association for Sport and Law and the Association of Regulatory & Disciplinary Lawyers.
Kevin lives in Leamington and is married with two children. In his spare time he tries to enjoy most sports particularly playing golf, cycling and watching cricket and rugby.
