Andrew has extensive family law experience specialising in this area for many years and advising clients in connection with:
- Divorce and financial affairs,
- Financial claims between cohabitees,
- Civil partnerships,
- Child issues (whether advising parents or grandparents)
- Pre-nuptial agreements.
Known for his understanding in delicate matters and giving each client the same personal touch, Andrew has a strong reputation for dealing with complex issues and high value cases, having acted in cases where the assets exceed £40 million. He understands the dynamics of valuable business interests from PLCs to limited companies and professional partnerships, and his spectrum of knowledge extends to international property and other assets abroad.
Together with his highly experienced family law colleagues, Andrew has a high level of client referrals and has acted (amongst others) for:
- Wealthy businessmen
- High ranking civil servants
- Other Solicitors and professionals
- Professional footballers
Whilst he fully believes that family issues are best dealt with in a constructive and conciliatory way without the need for any court involvement, Andrew has extensive experience of Court representation where it has proved necessary, and has dealt with matters in the High Court in London. Indeed, two of his cases (for those with an interest in such matters known as A v A and G v G) have been reported as legal precedents in the family law field of practice.
Andrew is also a qualified and experienced “Collaborative lawyer”. Collaborative Law is a relatively new area and is a type of dispute resolution for divorcing couples who need strong legal representation, but who would like to avoid going to court. The parties agree in advance to work with trained professionals to reach an agreement about finances and their children, without involving the courts, and instead go through the Collaborative process. For some, it can be an easier and more cost-effective process.
