LAW FIRM WELCOMES CONVEYANCING QUALITY MARK

15/09/2011

A Leamington law firm has become one of the first in the region to be awarded the Law Society’s new quality mark for conveyancing, a standard now demanded by the UK’s top mortgage lenders.
Blythe Liggins Solicitors on the Rugby Road, which has a 13-strong property department, has met the standards of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) accreditation, which recognises the high quality of service and advice the firm provides and which aims to give house buyers the reassurance they need when making a transaction.
It is one of only 500 law firms nationwide to achieve this accreditation.
Solicitor Alex Khan said: “The top four UK mortgage lenders won’t work with you if you haven’t got this accreditation. The quality-mark is also endorsement by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association and the Association of British Insurers.
“It assures clients that their solicitor is a specialist in this field. In a time when the public is bombarded by vast numbers of businesses offering legal advice, it’s good news that the Law Society has introduced such robust assessments.”
CQS has to be reapplied for every year to ensure the continuation of high standards.
Law Society president Linda Lee said conveyancing practices had never had the opportunity to be recognised for their work. “The CQS will give homebuyers an instantly recognisable quality mark highlighting a firm’s professional excellence and its commitment to providing a high quality service. The accreditation will allow consumers to identify quality conveyancing practices in a crowded and sometimes confusing market.”
