BLYTHE LIGGINS WEAR IT PINK
22/11/2011
Blythe Liggins held a Wear Pink Day on the 2 November.
Wear Pink Day was organised on behalf of the Breast Cancer Campaign. Both partners and staff were asked to wear something pink for a £2 donation. There was also a quiz and buffet at lunchtime. All of the questions and the food had a decidedly pink theme. Staff gave up their own free time to organise various events, including a raffle, during the week.
The firm raised £295 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.
The Breast Cancer Campaign was set up in 1988 with the aim of funding research to find a cure for breast cancer. So far it has raised £13.2 million for breast cancer research from its Wear Pink day since the event was launched in 2002.
Blythe Liggins has raised just over £600 for two very worthwhile charities over the past two months, having hosted a coffee morning on behalf of MacMillan in September.
Lisa Thornton, accounts manager said “I have been overwhelmed by people’s generosity. Not only have staff and partners given up their free time to support this event but they have also contributed prizes for the raffle and given generously to various events that we held during the week. Everyone should feel very proud of what we’ve achieved”.
